Orbiting via API or MCP
Orvian Launch offers two ways to explore and interact with launches programmatically. Choose the REST API if you're building your own client, or connect an AI assistant over MCP if you want Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible tool to search launches on your behalf.
Getting started
Find the OpenAPI 3.1 description at /api/v1/openapi.json to understand the full shape of the API. Complete documentation sits at /developers.
To authenticate, use OAuth (your assistant or client will open a sign-in page here) or generate a personal API key from /account/developers. Keys are shown only once; we store only a hash, so keep yours safe.
What you can do
Via the REST API at /api/v1, you can query launches and read listings. Through the MCP server at /mcp, an AI assistant can search launches, read your listings and—with your permission—draft and manage listings you own.
Note: voting happens in orbit here on Orvian Launch itself, not through the API. Payments always process through this site; the API returns a checkout link when needed.
Rate limits
Rate limits and daily quotas apply to all API calls. Plan your queries accordingly.
