Staying in an orbit
Each listing page and founder profile carries a Follow button. When you follow a listing or founder, their news travels to you automatically: you need not revisit the page to spot new activity. Following costs nothing and requires only a free account on Orvian Launch.
Starting to follow
Find the Follow button on the listing or founder page you wish to track. Press it. If you are logged in, you begin following immediately; the button shifts to Following. If you are not logged in, the button directs you to sign in or create an account, then returns you to confirm your choice.
What reaches your inbox
Followers of a listing receive word of fresh milestones, updates, new products from that company, shifts in status (such as acquisition or closure), new founder stories, a fresh or revised demo video, and launches of that company on other launch and discovery sites (capped at one notice per day across all sites). Followers also see #1, #2 or #3 Launch of the Week wins. Followers of a founder hear of that founder's new founder stories. All updates arrive as notices in your account and by email.
Tuning the cadence
Emails arrive daily by default. Visit /account/notifications to choose: instant delivery, a daily digest, a weekly digest, or silence. Telegram and Slack notifications may also be set up there.
Stepping out of orbit
Press the Following button on that listing or founder page to unfollow; updates cease at once. You may also silence emails at /account/notifications without unfollowing.
Questions people ask
- Do my follows affect a listing's vote ranking or votes?
- No. Following does not alter community votes, vote rankings, or Product of the Week status. Only the most-followed list at /launches/most-followed reflects follow counts.
- Will the listing owner know I'm following them?
- The owner sees that someone followed, but never learns who. Follower numbers may display on the listing itself.
- What if I want updates less frequently?
- Go to /account/notifications and switch from daily summaries to weekly summaries, instant alerts, or off. You can keep following whilst silencing emails.
